Throughout life, we all run into people that we consider are heroes. A hero is someone who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal. Someone that I consider to be a hero is my Young Life leader, Julie Guinsler. Julie is someone that I can always rely on to be there for me during any situation. She is not judgmental towards anyone and just listens to what I have to say and gives me advice because she has been through everything that I have. No matter what, she always speaks the truth, and to be a true hero, you have to be able to be honest with a person. Not only is she a leader and hero in my life, but she is also my best friend who is fun, loving, courageous, strong, considerate, and caring.
When I think of a hero, I think of someone who is an event of mishap, acts out in a way that no one else would, someone who lives life in eternity and is thinking about others by doing everything that they can in their power to help someone. The amazing thing about Julie is that she will do anything to help you in any situation. Whether it is just giving advice or leading you down the right path, she is there for you 100% of the way. Not only has she walked with me in life the past couple of years, but she has helped me with my walk with God. She will do anything in her power to get you closer to God and learn more about the Bible. I could not thank her enough for everything that she has given me, but I will forever and always consider her my hero.
Heroism is displayed everyday through coaches, teachers, family, and friends. Quite coincidently, Julie falls into all of these categories. She teaches me about God, she coaches me in life, she is loving like a family member, and treats me like her best friend. I consider Julie a hero because she puts herself second above everyone else and is always thinking of ways she can help other people. She is the one person that you can go to for anything and is always glad to help under any circumstance. People say that you do not have to be brave to be a hero, but she is brave through life and I guarantee that she will never let anyone down. The greatest thing that overwhelms me is that Julie also saves peoples life, and I know that to be true because she sure saved mine.
