Stephanie Busby founded Sunshine Mail Foundation in 2010. With a degree in social work from the University of Maryland and a love for children, Stephanie crafted a mission focused on children in homeless shelters, foster care and hospitals. As a crafter, Ms. Busby had long been making homemade cards and sending them to brighten someone’s day and realized that anyone can serve others by making a card. Since she started Sunshine Mail Foundation, hundreds of care packages (including essential items for homeless children such as soap and toothbrushes) have been delivered to children in need. Ms. Busby has done an excellent job of getting others to unite in her cause and was invited by the Presidential Inauguration Committee (PIC) to host a service event on the national mall for the National Day of Service where thousands of people participated. Stephanie leads the organization’s programs—the Hospital Program is currently national and the Shelter Program is currently serving the greater Washington D.C. area. She is committed to growing the Shelter Program in particular and as an emerging non-profit leader is setting the stage for Sunshine Mail Foundation to grow.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
