My husband, Pete, is my hero! As a former Marine, Pete served our country during Vietnam and was combat wounded on both tours of duty. In itself, that makes him a hero.

He has carried that courageous Marine with him his entire life; now having been diagnosed with a chronic lung disease, COPD, he inspires me through challenges that come with this disease. His strength, optimism, faith and courage amaze, not only me, but his doctors as well.

His courage and strength when faced with adversity has been an inspiration to me throughout our marriage. All the wonderful attributes he willingly has shared with others; so that they may have strength and courage to face trials in their life. Through faith, hope and love, he is a walking miracle in my mind. He's kind, caring, loving, strong, and funny - he is my dream come true and truly a gift from God. He is and always will be my hero!
