A Father, a coach, a veteran, a role model; these are a few words that can describe my hero. This man dedicated 12 years to the military and served in the cold war. He was one of the many people who protected and served our country so that we can have our freedom and rights. He devoted his life to raising his two loving children and took in a third and treated her as if she was his own. He is my life line. He has brought me up to be the young man I am today. He taught me in advance how to treat others, especially women. When my parents divorced I moved into an area in town where any day at any time I could have been shot and killed. I can’t help but to say that if it wasn’t for my dad I would probably fall into the stereotype that has descended onto my race. If my dad would not have pulled me out of my old school when he did I would probably be with the wrong crowd. Every day of my life I live in thanks for him and the all effort he has put in my life so I can have a good childhood. If I was given a choice to replace my farther I wouldn’t be able to accept it for all the money in the world. This is why I have chosen him to be my hero, the greatest person of all time to me.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
