Harold (Raspy) Maze(Rawls)
Harold Maze, or Raspy Rawls known to many has always been an outstanding individual. Not only is he inspiring but he is a determined leader who doesn’t understand the word no and impossible. My personal experience with Mr. Rawls has been far from few. He has not only pushed me to better myself, but he has also supported me as I climbed higher and higher up the ladder of life. When I was down and I felt as if I could not continue, he was the one who reminded me of the faith you must have and instill within yourself in order to stand back up and continue the climb. During the best and worst of times he has shown me that the only way to succeed is to push and grow. This powerful message has pushed me through to finish my first college degree and never quit. Therefore, today I have to share my hero with the world and his accomplishments. Mr. Rawls has been putting the masses of people together and showing them that there is more to the world than just what the popular media likes to exploit. He spends the majority of his time researching and networking so that he can put out information that allows education and intelligence to be incorporated in young and older individuals alike. Through the many obstacles that have been put in front of Raspy Rawls, there have been many more successes. Today he is building an organization PAUSE (Providing Answers Unity and Social Empowerment) which will further allow others to stand up, come together and build a foundation that will provide for communities around the nation and the world. What is a hero? A hero is defined as a person who is admired for noble qualities, accomplishments, and courage. Inspiration, dedication, and a drive has allowed him to become successful with his goals. What are his goals? His goals have and will be to bring together people and truly enlighten their minds and feed their souls with knowledge. But how is this courageous? Against all odds of life and battles that he has faced and will continue to face, he never stops bringing the word and information to the public. Thoroughly criticized and ostracized for his unique and different approach to things, Harold Maze will always be considered courageous in my eyes for his push in life. Harold Maze aka Raspy Rawls you are my hero.
