I met Mike when I was struggling so hard with my shattered life. When I heard Mike deliver a sermon at a church, I knew then I could turn to him in my time of need. Wow, was he ever! The first time we met, I told him I needed someone to listen. The expression of caring when I told him convinced me he was the one. All the years I spent struggling, faded away when we met. He really listened to my problems. I had never met anyone before, who exuded such compassion and love. Mike touched my heart in a way nobody else was able to and I respect and admire him greatly! In a time of such chaos in this world, there was actually a stranger who truly cared. I thought they didn't exist. Mike is an awesome human being who I now consider my mentor. That one meeting changed my life forever! He would never look at himself as a hero, but isn't that usually the case with people like him? I feel strongly that people like Mike are few and far between, and should be recognized for their truth and caring.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
