Yesterday, I was frantically juggling between preparing chili for the crock pot so we can have dinner ready after my son's baseball game (during which I had to leave to pick up my husband from work since we're down to one car only to come home and rush everyone to bed in order to meet a work deadline that I didn't finish in the office), when I asked my 4 year old son, Miguel, for the 17th time 'Where is your other shoe?' He looks at me and screams back 'I dunno, you had it last'. It was 5:25 and my oldest was supposed to be at the field at 5:30 (we live 15 minutes away). I couldn't find Miguel's shoe and to top it off, a fight broke out between my oldest (8) and his sister (5), something about a piece of paper. Anyway, I screamed 'All of you, go to your rooms until I find Miguel's other shoe! I've completely lost my patience with all of you!' Miguel looks at me and says 'Don't worry Mommy, after you help me find my shoe, we'll help you find your patience.' At that point, I inhaled one of those deep 'focus on your breath' type breaths and gave him a big hug 'cause all was good after that!God bless children for being so wise.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
