My Grandmother's sitter took my Grandmother, Alice Wait Hart, to a fast food restaurant in Baton Rouge LA. on Greenwell Springs Road and Monterrey, for her favorite hamburger on Valentine's Day.
A kind gentleman held the door open for them.
Having seated Mrs. Hart, the sitter told that gentleman as they stood in line that Mrs. Alice was 100 years old.
He left the restaurant and returned a few moments later to ask my Grandmother, Mrs. Alice, 'Will you be my valentine?'
When my Grandmother replied positively, he gifted her with a heart-shaped box of chocolates.
This single kind act made her day, and more, as that kindness continues to touch people to this very day.
What he didn't know is that Alice Wait Hart was the widow of a Preacher who spent his whole life trying to touch people's lives the way his simple random act of kindness touched me almost 300 miles away. We still don't know his name.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
