My nephew opened a new business in 2007 and three months later a flash flood (due to faulty highway drains) ruined everything, but his spirit. He rolled up his sleeves and with family and friends, he got the doors open in 24 hrs! Government officials looked the other way when he asked them to take care of the faulty drains on the hill above his property. This morning at 6:00 a.m., after checking on the drains at 3:00 a.m., his business flooded again- worse than 2 years ago! After a moment of disbelief, he again rented equipment and has spent all day trying to save mud soaked carpet and furniture. He is my hero - only 35 yrs old, but a loving, caring, VERY hardworking, ordinary American businessman that don't know the meaning of quit. His strength and determination both amaze me and encourage me. He never complains, never waits for the government to help, and never would file a lawsuit. He just keeps on "keeping on." I know God will bless him because, like the verse in Proverbs, he is just like the tiny ant, the smallest of creatures, but by never quitting he WILL succeed. Failure is not an option! I love him with all my heart!

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
