In 2005 I was unexpectedly left by my husband of 27 years, due to his being in a cruel cult.
My life was in a turmoil. I felt so sad and lost. There was nowhere that I fit in, as I had also belonged to that cult. They threw me out, and had told my then husband to leave me.
There is no way to explain such a type of depression. The cult had always forbid their members to seek Psychological help.
Thanks to advice from my family, I was able to find a Psychologist who specialized in those who had been harmed by cults.
This wonderful woman, my therapist, saved my life.
She guided me to have faith and begin to overcome the empty feelings that occur from the end of a marriage.
I will forever be grateful for my therapist's help, and the help of the non-profit that helps fund treatments for others like myself.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
