My name is Kevin Walls and I was abandoned at age 3. Before I was abandoned, my three brothers and I went through terrible molestation and beatings in Turlock, CA. I want to say that I have been through a lot in life. I was fortunate to find a lady like Winifred Phillips who already had taken in 34 foster kids and I was going to be the one who made a difference. Her love made me feel accepted in my life. I returned the gift by taking care of she and her husband, Don Phillips, and two of her sisters with love and compassion. I loved her dearly, I don't even think that her own kids loved her like I did! Winifred passed away on June 29, 2011; she will greatly be missed. I was the one that wanted to prove to the world how I made a difference for four people in a foster family. I returned the love to her. Winfred had Alzheimer's so I will let you know no easy task. I still think this doesn't happen very often, where a foster kid wasn't selfish but truly loved her and the family enough to return the favor of love. I'm talking 24hrs a day not giving up. Her love was so strong I couldn't. I finished the job and God knows, if anyone, how he lead me for I was ambitious, dedicated, and determined for Winifred. I have no job now after saving the family hundreds of thousands of dollars, it's tough in this economy. I worked for free, for I truly loved Winifred and her family. She always wanted me to give her a kiss. We had a connection, a spiritual one, and she wanted me to go to heaven with her. Winnie will be greatly missed. I thought this story could influence other children. If I can do it, anyone can. I had her on KCRA during Christmas and the National Enquirer, and strings of other papers to show my love for her. Her love went national. Winifred will always be in my heart. God Bless, Kevin Walls

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
