On a recent vacation to Myrtle Beach, SC I noticed a hand written note “iPod found here yesterday, call (xxx.xxx.xxxx)”. I continued my walk back to the house we had rented not giving it much more thought. The next day I went to look for my iPod and could not find it. Realizing that note was meant for me, my brother-in-law drove me back to the bench and the note was still there. I called the number that was there, a young girl answered the phone explaining that her step father was not there but when I described the iPod to her, she confirmed that it was in fact my iPod. Now, understand, I’m a complete stranger, but she agreed to meet me across the street from her house. My brother-in-law and sister drove me to the location and sure enough, there she was, iPod in hand. I was so elated to get my music collection back and amazed and encouraged that there are still honest people in the world. Thank you to this young lady for trusting me enough to meet me in the evening when it was dark, a complete stranger and thank you to her parents for finding the iPod and attempting to locate the owner (doing the right thing) and encouraging their children to do the same with a trusting heart. I’m encouraged for the future of our society.
