My mother, 85 at the time, called me to say that she had stopped driving. So my husband said, "Go, take care of her as long as you need to." So, I went 700 miles south to live with her, love her, and take care of her until the day she died. It was the hardest and most rewarding job of my life. It tears your heart out to watch someone wither away but I wouldn't have been anywhere else. After 9 months with her, 1 of which we had hospice there, on May 1st, 2008, 12:25AM, I was sitting near her and she made a little noise. I jumped up to be next to her. She was on her side with one hand up...her little hand opened, closed, and she was gone. I knew in my heart that my dad had come to take her by the hand and lead her to the floor of Heaven so that they could have eternity to dance together again. It was one of the saddest and THE most beautiful moments of my life. My faith was restored that night and know that I will see them again.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
