For 5 years I used drugs and alcohol to make me feel accepted. I then used heroin for 2 years. I'm 19 years old and bout 6 months sober. I've never been more happy or grateful. I just got my own car, I've never had a car of my own. I also am part of a private art class, yoga class, and volunteer at an animal shelter. Not to mention I now have a steady job. Thanks to my sobriety I'm able to accomplish things which used to baffle me. I never see myself making the wrong decision again—if I did I would lose everything I've gained and the person who I am today. Thank you mom and dad, institutions, my sponsor, and A.A.
