I am fourteen years old and I suffer from depression. I cut myself and thought that inflicting pain upon myself would make up for the bad things I have done. For a while, my vision was clouded by longing and negative views. I found it difficult to see the good in the world though there is a lot to see. I recently realized that by my actions of viewing everything as against me, instead of for me, I was preventing myself from moving forward and growing from my condition. I found ways to look at things as a whole rather than small imperfections. I noticed that what one views as an imperfection can, in fact, be another's perfection. I didn't take everything personally and repaired my relationships. Overall, I was able to appreciate and recognize all of the good things I have been blessed with and also the bad things because they make me who I am. Things will always get better, and there is always a reason to keep pushing.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
