I've been fighting depression for a few years now, but on my first 'decline', I clung to writing songs. This is the second time that I've found myself back at group therapy, but I've found ways to not only help myself, but ways to help others as well. It brings me so much happiness when I play songs on my ukulele and people start to smile and sing along with me, and suddenly the entire break room is full of joyful voices. Music can do wondrous things. There have been times that just when I thought that a person was unreachable, we'd find a song in common as well as comfort in a powerful social connection.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
