My great grandmother grew up through two world wars, and the Great Depression in between them. The marks it left on her manifested themselves in many ways. She was thrifty, hardworking, and always put her family first. Yet growing up on a farm during the hardest times did not make her stingy. She gave of everything she had. Her knowledge, her limited wealth, her hospitality, and her time. She never ran out of love. She helped my single mother raise me and never once complained even as she grew old. I carry that love with me still.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
