As I think about my family, I think about a rainbow. In researching my family, I found that the flags of the cities that they came from in Opole,Poland were of yellow(justice) and blue(preseverance) and from Wloclawek,Poland were red(courage) and yellow(justice). These values were handed down to my family and to me. When my great grandparents (1884) and grandparents(1913) came to America on those German steamers, they carried on those family values of justice, courage and especially of perseverance. And the colors of the rainbow, they gave to me also. The colors of red for courage, orange for vitality, yellow for justice, green for life, blue for perseverance, indigo for intuition, and violet for the feeling of being treated like a princess! When they came to America, they brought all these values with them and continued to live by these values and passed them on to their great grandchildren, and grandchildren to make our lives shine through the rain. I believe that God never sends us rain without sending the sunshine into our lives. I believe that God sent those April showers in 1884, when my great grandparents, Adam and Franziska, brought their children, Franz, Karl and Thomas(my grandfather) to America.I believe that God sent those April showers in 1913 when my grandparents, Josef and Josefina brought their children, Casmier and Eugenia to America (Ellis Island ) Because of their family values, especially perseverance, my family and I are blessed with the sunshine of God's love.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
