In November 2008 I lost my job that I had for 10 years. Followed by losing my 401k. Then in May 2010 my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She passed away a month later in June. I also am a black belt in martial arts and run a program here in the town I live in. Then some things happened in martial arts that was going to make me give it up, but I had one promising student that I could not give up on. So I kept teaching and later that student was double promoted and then we set out to compete in the junior Olympics in San Jose California in 2011. Since then that student and I have made it to Nationals twice, the US open, Olympic tae kwon do camps and I have taken level 1 and 2 coaching classes for USA tae kwon do. And have visited over 10 states and have meet tae kwon do Olympians. Never give up.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
