I had left the medical center with my wife, two hours into a four hour trip home. She had just undergone a double mastectomy with some complications requiring a second trip into the operating room just a few hours after the initial surgery.
Almost to the usual halfway point where there is somwhat of an oasis the only thing I could think of was "How am I going to get her into the restroom?" She could painfully, barely get into the car and was enduring with gritted teeth the long drive back home.
I pulled into the closest parking spot in front of the gas station with the intention of soliciting help from a female store clerk. As i helped her from the car another vehicle pulled into the spot next to us.It was a couple about our same age and as the husband stood up from his car I blurted out to him "Would you mind if I asked your wife for some help?"
Graciously he motioned to his wife to help and she followed close behind as I steaded my wifes walk to the back of the store where the restrooms were located. The Samaritan took my wife in and helped her back out to me where the husband and I passed a few seconds inquiring about destinations and our traveling.
I will be forever grateful for the compassion showed us by complete strangers today. The only thing I know about them is that they are from Tonapah, Nevada and that when someone needed help they obliged eagerly.
Thank you whoever you are.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
