Honesty
My cousin and I are watching TV. While we watch he tells me he is tired of watching T.V. “Can we go do something else?” he asks. This reminds me of one time when I was outside with my dad.
Suddenly I remember when my dad and I were outside, and he was teaching me tricks. Then my mom came outside and asked “Do you want to play soccer this summer?” I thought back to playing soccer in the other years and starting to decide if I still liked playing. My mom reminded me to answer her question. “I need to know your answer,” she said. After a little more thought, and pressure from the sun, I decided to not play soccer for that summer.
My mom was a little surprised as if she just saw a dog talk because I played soccer the previous years. “Are you sure? I think you should play this year,” she said. I started to think if I should play even if I didn’t like it. Just then my dad told me “You don’t have to play soccer if you don’t want to.” My mom still wanted me to play but my dad told her, “I’m not going to force him to play if he doesn’t want to.” After he told her that she agreed with him.
Today I still remember what he said. Then I remember my cousin is still waiting for a response from me. I think for a second then I ask “What do you want to do?” He tells me “I want to play outside.” Then we raced faster than Formula One cars straight for the door.
