Ms. A 2B Courage
This year I have been doing well on my grades, until this last quarter which has been the
worst. My grades are bad and I have to complete many projects. It feels like I am in prison. I am tired of school and waking up so early. I just want to finish high school. Sometimes I just feel like sleeping in class like a bear on hibernation. It makes me remember about my cousin.
Back when I was in 7th grade and my cousin was in 11th grade, my cousin felt the same about school. He always talked about how he wanted to drop out and how he was tired. His parents asked, “Que vas aser?” “Yo no se?” He replied. He couldn’t graduate if he got any more F’s. He realized he had to do good the next year.
The following year he tried harder. He started going to school every day. He finished all his assignments and didn’t give up. He tried his hardest to get as many A’s as he could. He missed a couple days but still made up his work. He was proud of how he stepped up to fix what he could.
The last quarter was the greatest quarter for him. He got a 4.0 with a couple missed absences. Our whole family was proud of him. My parents told me “You should be like your cousin.” He got to graduate and he started of his life amazing. After High School he got a job and he is still working at that job now. He learned not to give up and to do what is better for his life.
In this last quarter and the next three years I will try my hardest to stay in school and pass all my classes. I look up to my cousin. He is also my favorite cousin. I will try like him and not give up.
