Ursula G., 90, my childhood dance teacher. Ursula taught modern dance at Colorado College in Colorado Springs for 40 years.
I took dance starting at the age of 4. I was a pigeon-toed kid and my feet were corrected in my toddler years. The doctor suggested dance to continue my progress and improve my balance. Ursula was so positive with me as she was all her students. She made me believe in my ability to carry myself with elegance and grace, to embrace the body I have and that I am a wonderful dancer. I played a bear in a recital 30 years ago and she still calls me her 'dancing bear' whenever I see her.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
