I am a high school drop out. However, I have a masters degree in self education. Let me explain. I didn’t have much ambition growing up. I wasted the bulk of my time on video games, weed, and television shows. Until one day, for no reason at all I picked up a book titled the 7 habits of highly effective teens. I don’t remember much about the story, but one key concept that truly resonated with me was the idea of time. The book stressed the notion of utilizing my time wisely.
I know it sounds crazy, but during that time in my life I was the walking dead: An aimless monster, who didn’t possess a modicum of self-awareness. But after I finished the last page of that book I made a decision to spend an hour a day just reading (it’s only two sitcoms). Through reading i’ve discovered discipline, happiness, motivation, and an endless supply of role models, who through the written word have inspired me to keep pushing upward. Now, I am college educated, I make a pretty decent living, and in the process of building my own company. And it is all due to the power of story.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
