#Values
When I was in second grade and my parents constantly fought and eventually got divorced, my big brother always told me to smile. Smile, and it would be okay. Smile, try to be optimistic, and things would get better. And they did. It’s unhealthy to pout and be upset for extended periods of time, so I have continued to endeavor to live my life this way: smiling. I genuinely value happiness and optimism over anything else in life. If we are truly happy, I don’t think anything else really matters. It’s impossible for any individual to be happy at all times, but I still think it beneficial and uplifting to try.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
