My son Preston has always been a kindhearted boy. But tears came to my eyes when he asked my wife's friend's sister to dance. She has a mental disorder that makes her seem to be in a distant world. The look of kindness in his eyes while he danced with her made war and pain and violence seem to be a distant thing.
He danced with her for thirty minutes without breaking a special connection between their eyes. I could see the compassion in his heart while he danced. After the dance, he told me, "She said nobody had asked her to dance before. She also said that she felt like she was sixteen again and at the homecoming dance she had never had." I know my son will grow up to be a very nice, kindhearted, and special man. He inspires me to be the same.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
