Willow has been the greatest teacher I have ever known and she has inspired me in ways I never thought possible.
She has taught me the most major of life lessons such as love, patience, fearlessness. She lives her life for the pure joy of living and is always intensely "in the moment" (I watch and try as I might I cannot quite catch onto how she manages to do that, but I practice every day, and she is a patient teacher). She is teaching me how to be playful, like a child, although I must admit I don't always understand the game - she is very tolerant to my slow learning style and never gives up on me. I've learned about loyalty, boundaries, respect, and keeping face. She's even taught me great Yoga moves and wonderful stretches.
Yes, I'm sure you know by now, that Willow, my Hero, is my companion cat who is only turning 4 yrs old in Aug./09 and was a rescue cat as an adult (and rather wild to boot). I adopted her at 8 months old, an adult and she weighed only 4 lbs, very close to death. Love saved her and love tamed her - well not completely and I doubt she ever will be and I love her just the way she is, as I always have at every point in time. Love is the most powerful force in this world and that's what my Hero, Willow taught me.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
