My hero is my sister, Missy. Technically, she's my half-sister, but I don't bother with that. She is my sister, through and through. She was 21 when I was born, so in some ways she's more mentor than sibling. She is the exact opposite of me. She likes punk music, I like country. She's a big city girl, I'm a small town kind of person. But she has inspired me in so many ways. She always dreams big. She comes up with these crazy plans and a lot of times they don't pan out, but she's always there with something new. She never gives up and that means a lot to me. She is a truly good person and she isn't afraid to be exactly who she is. As a middle school student, that's a good lesson for me to learn. She has taught me to set high expectations and always be true to myself. She currently is having success in her business and personal life. I'm so happy for her. After all these years, she's found a place to (somewhat) settle down. For me, the sky's the limit and it's because of her.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
