COMPASSION QUOTATIONS
“Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It's a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity.”

Pema Chödrön

“True compassion means not only feeling another's pain but also being moved to help relieve it. ”

Daniel Goleman

“If a person seems wicked, do not cast him away. Awaken him with your words, elevate him with your deeds, repay his injury with your kindness. Do not cast him away; cast away his wickedness.”

Lao Tzu

“Compassion is the ultimate expression of your highest self.”

Russell Simmons

“Compassion asks us to go where it hurts, to enter into the places of pain, to share in brokenness, fear, confusion, and anguish. Compassion challenges us to cry out with those in misery, to mourn with those who are lonely, to weep with those in tears. Compassion requires us to be weak with the weak, vulnerable with the vulnerable, and powerless with the powerless. Compassion means full immersion in the condition of being human.”

Henri Nouwen

“Use your voice for kindness, your ears for compassion, your hands for charity, your mind for truth, and your heart for love.”

Anonymous

“A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal.”

Steve Maraboli

“Compassion is the currency that leads to true wealth.”

Jim Carrey

“Compassion is a power that we first bestow on ourselves and then give away through our actions—to people, to our planet. When we recognize this, that is when love becomes our legacy. ”

Amanda Gorman

“If you are going to be compassionate, be prepared for action!”

Archbishop Desmond Tutu

“Compassion is the greatest form of love humans have to offer.”

Rachel Joy Scott

“Compassion is the sometimes fatal capacity for feeling what it is like to live inside somebody else's skin. It's the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too.”

Frederick Buechner

Considering that compassion is all about love and kindness to others, I'd say that it is exactly what I feel towards the giorls who work as shop assistants. Very often I put myself in their place and feel as if I was one of them.

Anderson from Colatina, ES - Brasil JULY 10, 2013
Precisamos ser compassivos, e isso é um valor que vemos ser pouco praticado, mas cada um tem que fazer valer. We need to be compassionate, and this is a value that we see little practiced, but each one has to enforce.

I totally agree. It breaks my heart when people disregard animals, children and elderly. They have feelings, too.

Melanie B from Houston TX AUGUST 2, 2010
I think compassion should be for all living beings. We are truly compassionate people when we care about all living beings - compassion begins with us for all!
